Responsibilities

  • Actively engage with the developer community through various channels, including online forums, social media, and developer events.

  • Foster a positive and collaborative relationship with developers to understand their needs and challenges.

  • Maintain an active and engaging presence on relevant community channels and open-source repositories.

  • Produce engaging technical content tailored for social media platforms, including video shorts, blog posts, and social posts to help developers understand and utilize our product and technologies.

  • Work closely with other teams, including engineering, support, and growth, to ensure a unified approach in advocating for and supporting developers.

  • Represent Appwrite at developer conferences, meetups, and other relevant events.

  • Organize or participate in hackathons, meetups, and other developer-focused events

  • Provide support and guidance to developers using Appwrite

  • Collaborate with the engineering and support team to provide efficient technical resolutions

  • Work closely with our Growth team, and assist in tracking and reporting key metrics, including developer feedback and content/social engagement

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of software engineering experience, including experience working with at least 2 programming languages and development tools (JS, TS, PHP, Python, Ruby, Dart, Kotlin, Swift…)

  • Developer Advocacy experience or similar experience
  • Experience growing and nurturing online communities.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly in both written and verbal forms.
  • Passion for technology, open source, and community engagement.
  • Strong ability to work effectively in a diverse, global team. Experience in remote collaboration tools and practices is a plus.
  • Ability to learn and adapt in a fast-paced and rapidly evolving tech environment.
  • Understanding of developer workflows and challenges.
  • Proven ability to create technical content and code demos.
  • Experience in video editing for producing high-quality video content for video shorts and repurposing videos into clips.
  • Experience with cloud platforms and services.
  • Previous contributions to open-source projects.
