Responsibilities

• Play a key role in crafting intuitive, performant and visually appealing user interfaces for Appwrite's touchpoints.

• Ownership of the improvement and development of our design system to ensure consistency and efficiency in design implementation.

• Enhance design with advanced features like animations and micro-interactions to elevate user experience and aesthetic appeal.

• Bridge the gap between design and engineering by facilitating workflow improvements and raising the quality standard.

• Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in creative development, and incorporate relevant advancements into Appwrite's processes.

• Proficient in browser rendering techniques to optimize user interface experiences and ensure seamless functionality across various web platforms.

• Optimize the frontend codebase for performance, focusing on Core Web Vitals (Largest Contentful Paint, First Input Delay, Cumulative Layout Shift) and other key metrics to ensure a fast, responsive, and visually stable user experience.

• Integrate accessible design principles into frontend development, including semantic HTML markup, ARIA attributes, and first-class keyboard support.
  

Requirements

• Strong programming skills and experience with frameworks. Experience with Svelte is a plus.

• Excellent eye for detail and design, with an understanding of layout, typography and color.

• Striving for perfectionism by aiming to craft the ultimate user experience, focusing on aspects such as performance, accessibility, and design excellence.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills. You have closely collaborated with designers and other engineers in previous roles.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment and adapt to evolving priorities.

• Passion for crafting beautiful transitions, animations and micro-interactions in our product and website.
