Chemix is seeking a highly motivated research technician to help implement our AI-driven battery R&D and testing operations. You will be a core member of our R&D team, assisting our engineers and research staff with daily operations. An ideal candidate is able to learn quickly, is highly detail-oriented, takes pride in the quality of their work, and wants to make a real impact in energy storage technologies for electric transportation.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct a wide range of battery testing and characterization experiments following established protocols.
  • Prepare and assemble cells for testing, including entry into data acquisition systems and test fixtures.
  • Execute electrical, thermal, and mechanical tests to evaluate battery performance and reliability.
  • Monitor and record test data accurately, ensuring the integrity of experimental results.
  • Troubleshoot and address technical issues during testing, with a focus on safety and precision.
  • Assist in the development of testing procedures and documentation.
  • Maintain a clean and organized laboratory workspace.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and ensure a safe work environment.
  • Previous experience working in a laboratory or testing environment, preferably with battery systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate results.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve independently.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Adherence to safety guidelines and best practices.
  • Self-motivated with a passion for clean energy and sustainability.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment.
  • Experience with using tools to assemble hardware.
  • Basic fluency in working with computers.

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with battery testing equipment and data acquisition systems.
  • Experience with glovebox usage
  • Wet lab experience
  • Familiar with basic soldering
  • Associates degree or above in a technical field (or equivalent education / experience).
