Title: Manager, Supply Chain & Procurement

Job Description:

Core Scientific is currently seeking a Supply Chain & Procurement Manager. This role will be a crucial partner in negotiating and purchasing for our most significant and large-scale projects. This role will involve developing comprehensive procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring the efficient and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the data center industry, preferably in an outward-facing role.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all procurement activities for large-scale projects, including new data center buildouts for mining and AI operations.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive procurement strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for supplier negotiations, ensuring the best possible terms and conditions.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and vendors to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services.
  • Collaborate closely with senior leadership to align procurement activities with business strategies and project timelines.
  • Oversee the creation and management of purchase orders (POs), ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Monitor and track POs and invoices to ensure timely payment and resolution of any discrepancies.
  • Develop and maintain detailed records of procurement activities, including contracts, expenditures, and financial reports.
  • Conduct regular audits of procurement processes to identify and implement improvements and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Work with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and project management, to forecast demand and manage inventory levels.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies in all procurement activities.
  • Provide strategic insights and recommendations to senior leadership based on procurement data and market trends.
  • Foster open, respectful, and professional communication directly within the team as well as with co-workers/ teammates and leaders across the organization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience at a data center company in an outward-facing role.
  • Proven experience in negotiating and managing contracts with customers, suppliers and vendors.
  • Strong understanding of procurement processes and best practices.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, preferably NetSuite.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in managing procurement documentation and financial records.

Work Environment

This job is remote, based in United States. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, and smartphones.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Travel

Approximately 25% travel may be required.
