The Job

We seek an experienced Facilities Maintenance III responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and installing data center electrical and data center supporting equipment in a production facility. This role requires adherence to safety protocols and implementing effective electrical and maintenance systems and processes to achieve the site’s business goals and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in safety policies and procedures
  • Promote open, respectful, and professional communication within the team, with coworkers, and leaders across the organization.
  • May act as the point of contact in the absence of the onsite Supervisor.
  • Provide mentorship and training to other technicians.
  • Perform Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
  • Operate the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Participate in the inventory management of tools, parts, and equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical diagrams, and documents.
  • Inspect electrical components, such as transformers and circuit breakers.
  • Utilize testing devices to identify and report electrical issues.
  • Collaborate with outsourced trades when necessary.
  • Perform tasks related to mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of facility and equipment.
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, and test and adjust as needed.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, grounds and facilities.
  • Use various hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment when performing duties.
  • Perform duties using a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, air monitoring equipment, and material handling equipment.
  • Carry out minor repairs in building maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting as necessary.
  • Comply with and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Emergency Operating Procedures (EOPs).
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area.
  • Foster open, respectful, and professional communication directly within the team as well as with co-workers/ teammates and leaders across the organization.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, technical school training or equivalent is required.
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision and in a team environment required.
  • A positive and professional attitude is always required, and very high attention to detail is required.
  • 4+ years of manufacturing experience; strong electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and industrial skills with some PLC and HVAC experience required.
  • Ability to perform electrical tests, read results, and diagnose and repair electrical problems.
  • Experienced in operating various equipment, including lawnmowers, forklifts, scissor lifts, and small hand tools required.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering concepts, including electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems preferred.
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office required.
  • Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and pre-employment drug screening.

Occasional travel between data centers may be required as needed.

Work Environment

This job operates in a data center, office, and shop environment. This role routinely uses standard maintenance equipment such as ladders, scissor lifts, forklifts, power tools, voltmeters, etc. While performing these duties the employee will be exposed to hot and cold environments.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, and lift up to 40 pounds.
