What to Expect:

Joining EVident Battery as a Hardware Engineering Lead means you will be responsible for the products from concept to design, development, manufacturing, and field operation at every stage. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to validate our ground-breaking hardware and ensure our high industry standards are met. The ideal candidate thrives from working in a technically complex and fast-moving environment and is willing to challenge the status quo.

What You Will Do:

  • Product development: perform design, prototyping, manufacturing, and testing involving mechanical and electrical components.
  • Technology advancement: perform EV battery pack analysis through physical experiments (vibration) and finite element analysis (FEA)
  • Manufacturing operation: engage in manufacturing operations including 3D printing, laser cutting, water jet, etc. as part of product and technology development.
  • Product management: facilitate the selection and qualification of materials and components in close coordination with suppliers. Manage budgets and timelines to guarantee product excellence and punctual delivery.
  • Cross-functional team: support machine learning engineer and software engineer for future data analysis by supplying data and clear documentations.

What You Will Bring:

  • PhD or MS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Material Science
  • Strong knowledge in engineering mechanics, vibration analysis, structural and materials design and testing, and robotics operations.
  • Deep comprehension of the material properties and the mechanisms of failure in metals, polymers, and their composites.
  • Hands-on experience in the development and analysis of mechanical and material tests.
  • Strong proficiency in engineering analysis tools (MATLAB/Python), Finite Element Analysis (Ansys/Abaqus), CAD (SolidWorks or equivalent), data acquisition platform (LabVIEW, Data Acquisition Hardware), and manufacturing operations.
  • Familiarity with battery technology and electric vehicle systems is optional but highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and project management skills, with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Remain engaged, proactive, and positive in tough circumstances. Own assignments and take full accountability for their success, with the ability to change direction quickly.
