Overview

Sports Illustrated is seeking a Digital Writer to join the SI Swimsuit digital team, covering Swimsuit content, travel, and trending stories across fashion, celebrity news, and pop culture. This role involves producing daily content, collaborating with editors and writers, and staying on top of the latest trends, particularly those focused on women. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and able to align with a specific content approach, while bringing enthusiasm, and a collaborative mindset. They should also bring thoughtful ideas to pitches and assignments, finding unique angles that elevate lifestyle and celebrity coverage while aligning with the SI Swimsuit voice.

What You'll Do

  • Work on a virtual editorial team, pitching stories and taking on assignments to populate swimsuit.si.com, lifestyle.so.com, and custom syndication channels.
  • Write compelling breaking and trending content, staying in sync with the latest pop culture and lifestyle news
  • Keep your pulse on daily trending news by monitoring social media, other pop culture sites, and analytics tools
  • Build stories with our in-house content management system (CMS), and on syndication platforms, creating holistic pieces of content to enhance reader experience

The expected salary range for this position is between $65,000 and $75,000. Actual pay will be determined based on skills, experience, and location. The benefits available for this position include flexible vacation policy, 15 paid holidays, paid parental leave, health insurance, 401(k) with company match.

Requirements:

What You Have

  • 1+ year of experience in lifestyle and/or pop culture digital writing.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced digital editorial environment, collaborating with writers and editors and contributing story ideas.
  • Expertise in celebrity news, fashion, and beauty, with a strong passion for lifestyle and pop culture
  • Understanding of how readers discover and engage with content online, including knowledge of SEO best practices, analytics insights, social media trends, and overall content strategy.
  • Ability to quickly identify and prioritize timely stories in pop culture, fashion, and lifestyle, turning emerging trends into compelling digital content.
  • Strong writing, proofreading, and time management skills, with the ability to produce high-quality content on tight deadlines while maintaining strong attention to detail, fact-checking, and editorial standards.
