WEKA is architecting a new approach to the enterprise data stack built for the age of reasoning. NeuralMesh by WEKA sets the standard for agentic AI data infrastructure with a cloud and AI-native software solution that can be deployed anywhere. It transforms legacy data silos into data pipelines that dramatically increase GPU utilization and make AI model training and inference, machine learning, and other compute-intensive workloads run faster, work more efficiently, and consume less energy.

WEKA is a pre-IPO, growth-stage company on a hyper-growth trajectory. We’ve raised $375M in capital with dozens of world-class venture capital and strategic investors. We help the world’s largest and most innovative enterprises and research organizations, including 12 of the Fortune 50, achieve discoveries, insights, and business outcomes faster and more sustainably. We’re passionate about solving our customers’ most complex data challenges to accelerate intelligent innovation and business value. If you share our passion, we invite you to join us on this exciting journey.

About the role:

WEKA's Developer Experience (DevEx) team writes the software that builds, tests and merges the WEKA Data Platform. It's a large Python codebase that runs our CI, test scheduling and execution, and every R&D engineer depends on it every day. You'll write, refactor and own that Python code, along with the build, CI and infrastructure it runs on: a large monorepo, many release lines, and thousands of automated test runs on physical and cloud clusters. We're modernizing the whole stack now, which makes this a good time to join.

What you'll do

- Write and maintain the Python services, CLIs and libraries behind our CI, test scheduling and execution.

- Break a long-lived Python monolith into well-defined, independently testable services with clean interfaces.

- Build AI-driven tools in Python for failure triage, root-cause analysis and developer automation.

- Develop our CI flows: event-driven PR workflows on GitHub Actions, cascade merges across release branches, test selection and merge gating.

- Work on our Bazel-based build and packaging flow and its integration with CI.

- Own the infrastructure the platform runs on: CI runners on Kubernetes, cloud-based test agent pools, and the services behind them.

- Keep it all healthy and visible: build dashboards, alerts and health checks, and take part in on-call.

Requirements

- 3–5 years of professional software development in Python.

- Strong Python: production services and tools, testing with pytest, type hints, and packaging.

- Experience in a large, mature codebase: reading unfamiliar code, refactoring safely, and writing meaningful tests.

- Good software design: clear module boundaries, logic separated from I/O, code that's easy to test.

- Curiosity and a real drive to learn. Our stack is broad, and you'll pick up whatever the problem needs.

- Hands-on CI/CD experience in a complex environment, preferably GitHub Actions.

- Solid Git beyond everyday use: merging, rebasing, resolving conflicts across long-lived branches.

- Experience building tools on top of LLM APIs: agents, triage bots or automation.

- A monitoring mindset: metrics, dashboards and alerting (Grafana, Prometheus or similar).

- Working knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes and at least one cloud provider (AWS, GCP or OCI).

Nice to have

- Bazel or another build system (Buck, Pants, CMake).

- API and service design for internal platforms.

- Job orchestration and distributed execution: queues, workflow engines, worker pools.

- Packaging and artifact formats: container images, OS packages.

- Buildkite, ArgoCD.

Why join us

- Your work directly sets the velocity of WEKA's entire R&D organization.

- Real scale and complexity: a large monorepo, many release lines and hardware-bound testing.

- A real chance to shape the stack: services, build, infrastructure and execution systems are being refreshed now.

- Real use of AI in day-to-day engineering tooling.

- A hands-on team that works closely with R&D across storage, platform and QA.
