Job Description:
The Role:
The Algorithms and Libraries Team seeks a highly technical and performance-driven intern to develop and optimize algorithms for RISC-V hardware. The role is centered on leveraging vector processing to create high-performance libraries, deploying them to major AI/ML and DSP frameworks, and contributing to the MLIR-based compiler ecosystem
Responsibilities:
Develop high-performance algorithms and software libraries for RISC-V machines, leveraging vector processing and SiFive's custom ISA extensions.
Deploy SiFive Kernel Libraries to open source AI/ML and DSP frameworks.
Collaborate with compiler and runtime engineers to improve compiler optimizations and integrate high-performance algorithms into our MLIR-based parallel programming framework.
Requirements:
Bachelors or Masters in computer science, applied mathematics, or a related field.
Software design and programming experience in C/C++/Python/Jinja2/CMake for development, debugging, testing and performance analysis.
Theoretical background in analysis of algorithms, linear algebra, and parallel computing.
Familiarity with major ML training frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) and common inference runtimes (e.g., LiteRT and the Micro version, ExecuTorch, ONNX Runtime, TVM).
Familiarity with ARM SIMD technologies (NEON/MVE/DSP extensions) is a plus.
Familiarity with MLIR (Multi-Level Intermediate Representation) or compiler design principles is a plus.
